On Thursday, June 27, 2024, the Olympic flame passed through Luxembourg for the second time in history, the first being in 1948.
The torch, carried by three-time Olympian Anne Kremer, made its way to Schengen, where the borders of Luxembourg, Germany, and France converge.
It was a day filled with emotions, not last because Edmond Schmitt, the Luxembourgish torch bearer from 1948, was also present.
The ceremony took place in the presence of the Grand Duke, theGrand Duchess, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Minister of Sports, and other government members from Luxembourg, Germany, France, and Belgium.
It was a heartwarming celebration of the Olympic spirit, setting the stage for the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris
